ARTISTS TEST AND EXPLORE IN PROJECT SPACE
28 April – 18 May 2025
Artists from the University of Plymouth are the first artists-in-residence to take over Grow’s project space in 2025, as part of our residency programme: #DIYRESIDENCIES.
This spring residency unfolds in two phases over three weeks:
Phase 1: MA Fine Art Students
28 April – 10 May
Heavy Plant Crossing - MA Students
The artists will test out, create and install new works as well as developing pieces in the space as they go. The artists work in a range of media, including ceramics, performance, print, drawing, sculpture, installation, mixed media and photography.
They invite you to visit them during this period of development, seeing the residency space as a laboratory for ideas and an opportunity to collaborate in developing works and have conversations. These include participating in sculpture making, having your portrait made as part of a growing archive of the city, adding to a collaborative cyanotype.
Participating Artists:
Adriana Banari
Maryam Banifateme
Shannon Fennell
Anna Goodchild
Phase 2: PhD Artists
11 – 18 May
Three PhD artists from the University of Plymouth will continue the residency, bringing new perspectives and practices into the space. Participanting Artists: Yan Feng, Jane Walker and Yin-wen Lin.
